Just after 10:00pm Tuesday evening, October 13th, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel including Curry County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Harbor Fire Department and Cal Ore Ambulance responded to a vehicle crash on Hwy. 101 near Hoffeldt Ln.
Preliminary investigation revealed a Toyota Camry, operated by 64 year old Benjamin Demaris of Crescent City, was traveling southbound on Hwy. 101 when he struck 32 year old Michael Christian of Crescent City, as he walked across the highway.
Christian sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to Sutter Coast Hospital for treatment and then to Rogue Valley Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
