At approximately 7:00am, July 30th, Rogue Area Drug Enforcement detectives were notified of a male in Grants Pass who was in possession of a large quantity of methamphetamine.
Detectives began surveillance and located the male later identified as 39 year old Joshua W. Wheaton, from Crescent City, CA.
Wheaton was detained during the investigation and Grants Pass Department of Public Safety Narcotics Detection K9 Officer Gasperson and his partner Match responded.
With their assistance, Wheaton was detained and he and his vehicle was searched where 1.11 pounds of methamphetamine, cash, packaging material and drug notes were located.
Wheaton was taken into custody and lodged for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Distribution of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine.
