A search warrant was served by the Crescent City Police Department Monday, March 28th, after receiving information regarding an investigation from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force regarding child pornography.
A Crescent City Police Officer was assigned to conduct a follow up investigation and obtained a search warrant for 64 year old Walter Neeley’s residence on Monday, March 28th after prior investigation believed that Neeley had allegedly sent child pornography to other adults via Facebook Messenger.
Upon arrival, Neeley was located inside his garage and interviewed, admitting to possessing and distributing child pornography. Neeley was then booked in the Del Norte County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing as a forensic examination of the devices seized from Neeley’s residence is conducted. The results of that investigation will then be forwarded to the Del Norte County District Attorney’s Office for review.
