Crescent City Police conducted a traffic stop on a bicyclist for lighting violations. The subject was also seen in a front yard of a residence, which caught the officers attention.
During the contact, the subject provided a false name and fled on foot when he was being detained.
The officer pursued the suspect and caught him, a struggle ensued and the suspect used force against the officer to try and escape/prevent arrest.
During the struggle, K9 Kai was deployed for an apprehension bite and seized the subjects right calf. The subject stopped fighting the officers.
54-year-old Billy Beeson was taken into custody for PC 69 (resisting with force), PC 148 (resisting) PC 148.9 (false name) and HS 11377 (possession of a controlled substance)
Beeson received medical attention and was cleared to be booked into the Del Norte County Jail.
