On Sunday evening, October 28th, the Illinois Valley Fire District, Rural Metro, American Medical Response and the Oregon Department of Transportation responded to a traffic accident on WY. 199 near the top of Hayes Hill.
Two pickups, one with a large dump trailer, collided. The driver of the white pickup was cited by the Oregon State Police for careless driving and was transported to Asante Three Rivers Medical Center by American Medical Response.
The family and their dog in the red pickup were uninjured. Although Hwy 199 over Hayes Hill was closed for over 3 hours, traffic was diverted over Hayes Hill RD. Traffic control was provided by Illinois Valley Fire District Community Emergency Response Team.
