Coach Higgins Talks 2021 Season and “TRUSTING THE PROCESS”

As summer begins to wind down, Gold Beach head football coach Chris Higgins begins to gather his 2021 team, and start the hard work of setting and reaching goals. Coach Higgins shared his thoughts on this 2021 season.

This is my second year as a football coach in Gold Beach, coach Higgins said. We graduated 3 seniors from last year’s team, but gained 3 freshman as well. With the new sophomores who decided to come out and play this year, our team sits at 20 kids as of now.

Going into this season, we only have one senior this year who is also a 4 year starting QB for Gold Beach. We also have 3 juniors and a stacked solid sophomore group of 13 kids. Most of our young group played a lot of minutes on a varsity football team last year and got “fed to the wolves”. So, even though we are still very young, I’m very confident in the group we have to make a playoff run this year.

As a team and a staff that is our main goal. We want to keep putting these kids in the position to succeed as well as turn it up a notch and compete for a top 2 spot in our league.

To prepare for our league opponents, we have a tough pre-season schedule lined out this year which began on the road Thursday with a decisive win.

2021 Gold Beach Panther Football

We’re looking forward to playing a full football season this fall and feel we have had a very productive off season this year with many of my young kids hitting the gym hard to prepare for their Panther football futures.

“TRUSTING THE PROCESS” is what these kids have taken to heart, and I know Panther footballs future is bright with this group kids.
