The City of Brookings Parks has added two full basketball courts at Azalea Park. The courts are centrally located in the space that occupied the volleyball courts.
After careful evaluation of the parks, it was evident that additional basketball courts would be a great addition to the community. The Brookings Parks Commission recommended that this project go before the Budget Committee. The Budget Committee and then the City Council approved and adopted the budget to move forward with this exciting new addition.
We will soon be painting the court dimensions and are very excited to provide this additional recreational opportunity to the community.
The courts are open for public access from dusk till dawn. Conduit for lighting was installed, and lights will be a proposed project for the future.
