CalTrans has announced another Hwy. 199 road closure beginning Monday morning, December 12th and continuing through Thursday, Dec. 15th.
U.S. Hwy. 199 will be fully closed from 6:00am to 6:00pm, almost 3 miles from the 101 junction just north of Crescent City in Del Norte County, from 6:00am to 6:00pm, weekdays beginning Monday, December 12th for “inclement weather preparedness”.
On those days, travelers should use Route 197 as a detour. There will be brief closures of Kings Valley Road between U.S. 199 and Lesina Road during these times.
Crews have been conducting inclement weather preparations and the job is requiring more workdays than initially anticipated and residents will be able to access their homes via alternate routes.
