Motorists can expect 30-minute delays and one-way traffic control on U.S. 101 at Last Chance Grade, located south of Crescent City in Del Norte County, from July 2nd through July 5th due to the holiday weekend.
However, in an effort to accelerate the estimated completion date on the slide and roadwork on Hwy. 101 at Last Chance Grade from November to the end of August, CalTrans has announced that a new workweek schedule will include closures.
Beginning Tuesday, July 6th, Last Chance Grade on U.S. 101 south of Crescent City in Del Norte County, will begin a new work week schedule beginning with Hwy. 101 closures Monday through Thursday starting at 8:00am to Noon. Hwy. 101 will then re-open from noon to 3:00pm with another closure from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
On Fridays, Hwy. 101 will have an 8:00am to Noon closure. At all other times, including weekends, motorists should anticipate 30-minute delays.
Leading up to the Holiday weekend, motorists should continue to anticipate closures Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 11:00am, from noon to 2:00pm, and from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, on Fridays from 9:00am to 11:00am and from noon to 2:00pm, and 30-minute delays at all other hours. From July 2nd through July 5 motorists should only expect 30-minute delays due to the holiday weekend.
