Bruins to Meet Madras in Second Round Playoff Match

The Bruin Boys Varsity Soccer team earned the right to move on to the second round of the playoffs after dominating the North Valley Knights Wednesday afternoon with a 3-0 win.

The 8-0-2 4A-2 Tri-Valley Conference Madras White Buffalos will travel to Brookings tomorrow, Saturday afternoon, November 5th.

Madras will be a much different opponent for the Bruins as both teams boast very similar records. Madras scored 63 goals in league play allowing only 4 goals against them and will walk on the field with a convincing 3-0 playoff victory last Wednesday of their own against Hidden Valley.

The 9-0-1 4A-3 Far West League Bruins have a very similar 71 goals in league play and allowed only 8 goals against them. After playing an overmatched Knights team, the Bruins will face a stubborn defensive minded Madras team Saturday afternoon. Both teams will be fielding 8 seniors matching the Bruins maturity, however, the Bruins will have the home field advantage.

Again Saturday’s contest is a single elimination playoff situation and is the biggest game of the Bruins season.

Let’s make sure that the Bruins have a huge home-field advantage tomorrow, be at the Brookings-Harbor field Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm and help this group of young men continue their outstanding season.
