The 9-0-1 Bruin Boys Varsity Soccer team earned the right to move on to the second round of the playoffs after dominating the North Valley Knights Wednesday afternoon with a 3-0 win.
The 8-0-2 4A-2 Tri-Valley Conference Madras White Buffalos have traveled to Brookings and will matchup against the Bruins this afternoon, at 1:00 pm.
Madras will be a much different opponent for the Bruins as both teams boast very similar records. Madras scored 63 goals in league play allowing only 4 goals against them and will walk on the field with a convincing 3-0 playoff victory last Wednesday of their own against Hidden Valley.
The 9-0-1 4A-3 Far West League Bruins have a very similar 71 goals in league play and allowed only 8 goals against them. After playing an overmatched Knights team, the Bruins will face a stubborn defensive minded Madras team Saturday afternoon. Both teams will be fielding 8 seniors matching the Bruins maturity, however the Bruins will have the home field advantage.
Again Saturday’s contest is a single elimination playoff situation and is the biggest game of the Bruins season.
