On Saturday, April 20th, coach Jason Fulton, and the Brookings-Harbor High School track team hosted the Brookings Rotary Invitational, featuring 13 schools.
Under partly cloudy skies and otherwise perfect conditions with comfortable temperatures, thirteen schools decended on Elmer Bankus Field at Brookings-Harbor High School to compete in 17 track and field events.
Junior Tanner Anderson-Nelson, out of the blocks placed 5th in the 100m with a time of 12:11, finished 2nd in the 400m with a time of 53:47, placed 6th in the Long Jump with a jump of 16′-5″, and was part of the 4×400 relay team placing 2nd.
Freshman Cambria Whitted on left and Sophomore Sierra Stout on right starting the 800m.
Senior Peter Goode clearing 9′-6″ to place 6th in the Pole Vault, finished 4th in the Triple Jump with a jump of 35′-9″, was part of the 4x400m team finishing 2nd.
Sophomore Oceana Powers-Schmitz finished 16th in the Shot Put, with a throw of 23″-5″, was part of the 4X400 relay team finishing 4th, finished 8th in 400m in a time of 1:14, and finished the 200m with a time of 32.88.
Junior Mark Peterson finished 17th in the Javelin throw, with a throw of 100′-5″, finished 14th in the Shot Put with a distance of 31′-4″, and finished 13th in the Discus with a throw of 92′-6″.
Freshman Natalie Runge, finished 15th in the 100m with a time of 14.59, finished 7th in the 200m with a time of 30.8, and was part of the 4x400m team finishing 4th.
Senior Colby Anderson-Nelson finished 10th in the 1500m in a time of 4:56, and finished 7th in the 3000m in a time of 10:57.
Freshman Cambria Whitted finished 5th in the 100m Hurdles in a time of 21.91, finished 12th in the 300m Hurdles, and had a jump of 10′-7″ in the Long Jump.
Junior Devon Downing, finished 4th in the 400m with a time of 56.16, finished 7th in the 100m in 12.35, was part of the 4x400m Relay team that finished 2nd, and finished 6th in the High Jump clearing 5′-4″.
Sophomore Johanna Larson finished 3rd in the 400m with a time of 1.03:88, finished 10th in the 100m in a time of 14.39, finished 4th in the 300m Hurdles, and was part of the 4x400m Relay finishing 4th.
Junior Richard Goode finished 4th in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 20.80, finished 6th in the 300m Hurdles, was part of the 4x400m Relay team finishing 2nd, and finished 18th in the long jump with a leap of 14′-4″.
Freshman Riley Moulton finished 11th in the 1500m in a time of 7:40, and finished 5th in the 3000m in 16:40
Defending State Champion, Gold Beach Panther, Senior Nelson Wilstead, finished first in the Javelin, with a throw of 177′-4″ .
