The Brookings-Harbor boys varsity soccer team took advantage of their home field advantage Tuesday afternoon by jumping all over a determined Douglas team early.
The first half saw both teams being competitive in the middle of the field with some nice ball control and passing combined with taking advantage of some fortuitous situations in front each others goal areas.
The Bruins would strike first about ten minutes into the game, while Douglas would take advantage of a penalty kick to get on the board in the first half.
The Bruins would hold onto a 6-4 advantage at the end of the first half and would use good passing and tough defense to shut down the Douglas team and deny any scoring chances for the Trojans in the second half. Brookings-Harbor went on to score another five times in the second half making the final score 11-4.
