The Lady Bruins open up their post-season play TONIGHT at 5:15 pm at home hosting the Philomath Lady Warriors of the 4A-4 Oregon West Conference. The Lady Bruins and Philomath have not met on the hardwood this year so preparing for strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies is just that much harder.
Talking with Coach Schofield Thursday afternoon, I asked if there was anything he had focused on in particular during this week of preparation leading into tonights play-in postseason opener. “We are just trying to fine-tune some things. Trying to make sure our execution is sharp on both sides of the ball tonight,” said Coach Schofield.
The Lady Bruins game tips off at 5:15 pm TONIGHT at the Bruins Den and we need to stack that building to the rafters. The Lady Bruins have shown their work ethic, execution, and determination and now it is our turn to Pack the Den and show our appreciation to these young ladies sending them on their playoff journey loud and proud.
Saturday will have the Boys Varsity Bruins on the road to the home of the 8-2 Sutherlin Bulldogs from the 4A-5 Sky-Em League. The Bruins will tip-off Saturday night at 5:00 pm.
Athletic Director and Bruins Varsity Coach Buell Gonzales Jr. acknowledged “Big games for both teams. We’re not working on anything major… it’s the playoffs. Win or go home,” he said.
If you have an open Saturday tomorrow, take the ride to Sutherlin and let’s give these boys the support they need on the road.
