Brookings-Harbor boys varsity baseball took on the visiting Vikings from Siuslaw / Mapleton Tuesday evening, dominating from the first pitch.
Senior Cody Testa #24 took the hill for the Bruins going 6 scoreless innings, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 11 on his way to throwing a complete game shutout and leading Bruins Baseball to a 10-0 victory.
After Testa struck out 2 and got one Viking to pop out in the top of the 1st, the Bruins offense opened up scoring after sophomore Manny Zamora #26 beat out a sacrifice bunt advancing a runner to third setting up junior Roman Worthey #11 to pick up the RBI on a ground ball to third.
In the second, Testa shut out the side quickly getting the Bruin offense back at the plate. The Bruins would send 8 to the plate in the inning with Jacob Racho, Testa, and Manny Zamora, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
The Bruins would go on to put together 11 hits on the day. Zamora, Racho, and Justin Vanginderen each collected multiple hits for Bruins Baseball. Racho and Zamora each collected three hits to lead the Bruin offense as Testa threw BB’s shutting out the Vikings in a complete game for the pitcher.
The Bruins will meet Siuslaw / Mapleton this Friday in a doubleheader at the Vikings home field.
