The next outstanding Brookings-Harbor High School student athlete of the 2023/24 school year has been chosen Barron’s ‘Star Student Athlete’. Student athletes are selected by their coach’s for their outstanding efforts in the sports arena, as well as their exemplary scholastic and community participation.
This weeks selection, chosen by Bruin girls varsity volleyball head coach, Vanessa Nidiffer, is junior Madi Harris. Harris, now in her second year as varsity libero for head coach Vanessa Nidiffer, was selected for her strong work ethic and growth that has made her a critical part of the team.
“Madi consistently works hard and is a reliable passer in the back row” coach Nidiffer said. “and the other athletes trust her to hustle after the ball and leads the team with 65 digs”
She is also a leader scholastically, balancing her athletic participation while carrying a 4.0 GPA in courses such as business math, art, marine science, US history and english 3. She intends to attend cosmetology school after graduation next year with the goal of becoming an esthetician.
“As our second year varsity libero, Madi consistently gives 110% with her strong work ethic to the team each day” coach Nidiffer said. “A a leader in the classroom as well as on the court, and we are lucky to have her on the team!”
Congratulations Madi, we are confident that you will continue to be successful in any future endeavor you should choose to pursue.
