Bruin Girls End Regular Season with Convincing Win

Bruin girls varsity basketball and head coach Kara Miller hosted their final home game of the 2024/25 regular season taking on the 2-7 St. Mary’s Lady Crusaders Thursday evening.

An inspired Bruin girls team took to the floor Thursday evening determined to end their season with a win, and jumped out to an early lead that they would not relinquish, taking a 17-6 lead after the first quarter.

The Bruin girls, intent on keeping their early lead applied full court pressure pressure intermittently, keeping the Lady Crusader offense off balance and taking St. Mary’s out of their offense creating turnovers and fast break opportunities on their way to 32-15 lead at the half time break.

Coming out of the break with a healthy lead, the Bruin girls continued their pressure, however, the Lady Crusaders made adjustments in the locker room at the half, and would outscore the Bruin girls in the third period, closing the gap to just 14 points after the third period.

The Bruin girls rolled into the fourth period with a comfortable lead determined to not let St. Mary’s back into the game and kept up the defensive pressure while adding another 18 points offensively to finish their season with a convincing 58-43 win.
