Bruin Girls Celebrate Newly Improved Field Before Last Pre-Season Game

With the regular season looming on the horizon, the BHHS Bruins girls varsity softball team and head coach Tony Baron hosted the Del Norte Lady Warriors after a ceremonial Thank You celebration shared with the people and businesses that up-graded the BHHS softball field as part of the athletic infrastructure projects over the past summer.

After the ceremony, a softball game broke out with the Del Norte Lady Warriors who made the short trip up the coast continuing the local preseason tradition and representing the final friendly preseason tune-up before league play starts for the Bruin girls.

Sophomore right handed pitcher, Emma Armstrong was in the circle for coach Baron and both teams put points on the board in the first and went into the second inning tied at 3-3.

The Bruin girls offense stayed with the Lady Warriors in the early innings, however, the powerful Del Norte offense took control in the later innings.

Both the Bruin girls varsity softball and the Bruin boys baseball teams start regular season play Tuesday afternoon.

Dotson spoke on behalf of the team thanking the volunteers for the opportunity to play on the new field and would like to thank everyone involved for their volunteer work and contributions to build a new infield for the BHHS Softball Field.Not pictured: Volunteer Bob Schaefer – thank you for all your hard work!

The Bruin girls are on the road in Rogue River taking on the Chieftains with the first pitch scheduled for 4:00pm, and the Bruin boys take on the Chieftains at home with the first pitch scheduled for 4:00pm.
