The Lady Warriors focused on disrupting or stopping the Bruin girls ball handlers off of fast break mistakes or missed shots, slowing the Bruin girls on their way to the basket and forcing difficult shot opportunities.
The Lady Warriors took advantage of the Bruin girls offensive slow down, putting up 14 points in the period while holding the Bruin girls to only 9 points.
Coming out of the locker room after the half time break trailing by 6, 16-22, using their up tempo energy to get six players in the scoring column with three 3 pointers from three different shooters as they put up 14 points in the third period.
However, the Lady Warriors made their adjustments, disrupting Bruin girls passing lanes and getting position under the basket dominating the boards on their way to maintaining a 5 point lead going into the fourth period.
In the fourth period, the Lady Warriors refused to let the Bruin girls get off an unchallenged shot, sending the Bruin girls to the free throw line 8 times which accounted for 5 of the Bruins girls 8 points in the period with the Sophia Bauer hitting one of her two three pointers the only points from the floor in the period.
Del Norte added 18 points in the final period with consistent inside rebounding and shooting extending the Lady Warriors lead and the 38-53 win.
The Bruin girls will be on the road to North Bend to take on the Lady Bulldogs in another non-league match up today, Wednesday, December 20th, before the Bandon Dunes Tournament sets up regular season play after the holiday break.
