The Bruin boys looked to control the action early with high energy defense in an effort to slow the Cascade Christian offense and charged to the basket early on offense looking for points in the paint, but the Challengers stood firm running off of Bruin missed shots and taking an early six point lead. Even though the Bruins would create scoring opportunities, it would be the Challengers that would put up eighteen points in the period.

Now trailing by twelve points, the Bruin boys continued their offensive plans, but they just could not catch a break as every shot was challenged and every rebound fought for as both teams hit for four points to start the second period. But, Cascade Christian continued to capitalize on Bruin missed opportunities with a seventeen point second period, taking a large lead into the locker room at the half.

Starting the second half trailing 13-35, the Bruin boys rallied early in the third with ten points to cut the gap to nine points half way through the period. However the Challengers would put up twelve points of their own in the third and take 20 point 27-47 lead into the fourth period.

Both teams started the final period determined, with the Bruins determined to score points and give themselves a chance later in the period, and the Challengers determined to sustain their lead and run the clock out and both teams went on runs in the fourth. However, the Challengers would do enough to fend off the Bruin attacks and maintain their twenty point lead to go on take the 40-60 win.
