Bruin boys varsity baseball and Head Coach, Keith Wallin, split their first home stand of the season, hosting the Cascade Christian Challengers in a Monday afternoon double header.
The Bruin boys started the first of the two game series strong taking an early lead offensively with senior right-hander Austin Dietrich keeping the Crusaders off the base paths in the opening innings.
However, the Crusaders worked their way on base stringing together multiple hits in the fourth inning and moving runners into scoring position behind a couple timely Bruin errors defensively to take the lead which they would give up.
In the second game, the Bruin boys took a couple early innings to find their offense, with their bats coming alive in the third inning putting 3 runs on the board.
The offense continued in fourth as the Bruin boys worked three more runs across the plate sitting on a lead with 6 runs in the two innings, to take the 6-5 win in the afternoon game.
The Bruins will be on the road Thursday, April 11th, traveling to Sutherlin to take on the Bulldogs who will be coming off a four game win streak, with first pitch scheduled for 2:00pm.
