Bruin Boys Avenge Blemish Earlier in Season

On Tuesday, BHHS varsity soccer head coach Jess Beaman and his 7-0-1 team traveled to Roseburg, to take on the 6-0-1 Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs and set straight an earlier season questionable referee decision against the Bruins that gave them their only tie.

The game progressed much the same as the previous match-up in the out-set, however, as the game progressed the Bruin defense matched up earlier in the Monarch attack, and did not allow open shots from the top of the box that put the Umpqua Valley Christian on the board earlier in the year.

The Bruin offense developed many scoring opportunities through out the game beginning with junior forward Fabian Villa #10 who was the only player to put the ball behind the keeper in the first half of play, giving the Bruins a 1-0 lead at the half.

The Bruin defense continued to disrupt any Monarch offensive build up in the second half and the offense put the game on ice when sophomore Josh Serna found senior forward Rylan Bruce #5 who put the Bruins up 2-0. Junior Dylan Hodge #12 would find Fabian Villa for his second goal of the game sealing a clean sheet for senior Bruin keeper Juan Hernandez and the Bruin defense for the seventh time this season.

The Bruins are scheduled to be home Saturday at noon to close out the regular season
