It’s Spring, and Spring means baseball. The Brookings-Harbor Bruins boys varsity team started their new season back in mid-March when they played the first of six pre-season games as well as two tournaments before their season opener Tuesday, April 10th at Douglas.

On Wednesday, April 6th, the Panthers of Gold Beach were welcomed to the Bruins Yard for the only match-up between these two neighbors of the season.

Junior Roman Worthey #11 took the mound for Bruins and threw 3-2/3 scoreless innings, striking out 6 with 0 walks.

Freshman Andrew Burger #29 tries to apply the tag at 3rd.

Coach Keith Wallin has used the preseason to get his Bruins defense in order with strong fielding skills that held the Gold Beach offense scoreless.

After scoring early in the 1st inning, the Bruins bats woke up in the 5th inning as the Bruins crossed the plate twice in the inning and would go on to win 3-0.
