Big changes are in store for the area as a trough of low pressure is positioned off shore and expected to bring increased cloudiness as the work week continues. Increased cloudiness will cool temperatures significantly in comparison to high temperatures over the past weekend and as the low began to move onshore late Sunday evening, localized showers were spread throughout southern Oregon and northern California.
In the valley, clouds are expected to increase from mostly clear skies to partly cloudy, with a 5 to 9 mph wind becoming calm in the evening. Temperatures are forecast to fall to the low 80’s and upper 70’s for highs in some areas with no moisture forecast to be associated with this front.
On the coast, areas of patchy dense fog are expected under mostly cloudy skies for the work week. Temperatures in most coastal areas will stay in the low 60’s with early morning lows in the low 50’s. Again, precipitation is not expected with this system, however, short scattered isolated showers could be possible.
