BHHS Varsity Hoops to Play for Post-Season Position – #FilltheGym

Just a few weeks ago the Brookings-Harbor boys varsity basketball team took to the road with their unbeaten league record into the home of the North Bend Bulldogs.

Well, tonight the 5-2 North Bend Bulldogs will travel to Brookings to challenge the 5-2 Bruins at home in the Bruins Den.

Austin Fronckowiak #2 on defense, the Bruins defense will need to step up tonight.

After last Tuesdays win at Siuslaw Coach Buell Gonzalea Jr. told the Wild Coast Compass it will be good to take this momentum into what he called the “Big game Friday! A win puts us in a tie for 2nd. And that means hosting a home playoff game…”. The North Bend Bulldogs are another physically challenging team for the Bruins as the Bulldogs have put a roster together that has only one of its twelve players standing under 6  foot tall.

Bulldogs Jayden Frank #5 up for two of his 28 points

One key to a Bruins win will be slowing down if not shutting down the Bulldogs Jayden Frank, who lit the Bruin defense up for 28 points in the last game leading all scorers with 8 baskets and four 3 pointers on the night.

Eli Mills #1 and Bruins guards need to make the Bulldogs defend outside.

Of late, the Bruins players have all stepped up and played better both individually and as a team. Tonight the Bruins will surely come out to continue that level of play.

After suffering only two losses in league play, one being to this very Bulldog team, the Bruins have played well all season beating teams better and taller than themselves already this season and will need to turn the intensity knob up a couple clicks tonight.

If you like good basketball, are a Bruin alumni, or both, let’s fill Bruins Arena tonight and give our teams the support of the loud crowd they deserve and help push them into a good position going into post-season play.
