Thursday was a travel day for Champion Bruin Varsity Boys as the showed up to the home field of the 5-1-3 Marshfield Pirates.
The last meeting of these two clubs resulted in a midfield ball control game that the Pirates would eventually be beaten on with breaks on the outside and goals coming from long shots.
This game would be much of the same, however, the Bruins would take control early and not let the Pirates develop into the game. A Bruin ball control and the passing clinic would be the tactic on the day with well-placed goals from well-developed plays sprinkled throughout the game.
Clearly, the Bruins wanted to work on some tactics and practice their skills in this game and get off the Pirate field with a win and a healthy team moving on into the playoffs.
The 4A-3 Far West League Champion Bruin team finished their undefeated season with a 6-0 win with an overall league record of 9-0-1, their only blemish a tie to an inspired North Bend Bulldog team.
The Bruins will host the 1st Round OSAA Play-Off Game on Wednesday, November 1st, and with the final league games of the regular season completed, the Bruin playoff opponent will soon be announced.
