BHHS Girls Varsity Soccer’s Lily Strahm Selected Barron’s Home Furnishings ‘Star Student Athlete’

Fall sports programs are well under way this 2022/23 season, and another outstanding Brookings-Harbor High School student athlete has been chosen Barron’s ‘Star Student Athlete’. Student athletes are selected by their coach’s for their outstanding efforts in the sports arena, as well as their exemplary scholastic and community participation.  

This weeks selection is a four year varsity letterman athlete participating in the BHHS girls soccer program. Senior, Lily Strahm, #2, has been selected by head coach Brian Carlson from the Bruin girls varsity softball team for her leadership and determination at the forward position for the Bruins this season.  

“Lily is a senior leader who excels in the classroom as well as on the soccer field.” coach Carlson told the Compass. “She is a hard worker who leads by her example along with her voice, constantly looks to improve herself and her teammates and voted as a team Captain by her teammates.”  

Off the field, Lily has a cumulative 3.89 gpa scholastically for her first 3 years at Brookings-Harbor High School, while carrying classes in American Government and Civics, College Literature, Medical Terminology, College History, College Algebra, and volunteers time for local charity events preparing to attend OHSU to peruse a career in the Medical Field.  

“Lily’s consistent hard work and dedication has earned her the trust and respect of her teammates, they know that she will never give up in a game and will continue to battle for them no matter what the circumstances are.
