The BHHS Bruin varsity football teams 2021 season has come to end when Coach Bavaro could not safely field a team due to injury and other issues. This 2021 Bruin team began this unconventional season with 9 seniors who spent their off season learning a new system, playing new positions, and eager to get to the gridiron.
The Wild Coast Compass caught up with head coach Shaun Bavaro and asked him to share some thoughts as this season comes to a close.
He told the Compass “First, we are really bummed for our seniors!” he said. “The program appreciates their hard work and excitement they brought back to Friday nights. We wish them success in their future endeavors.”
“However, on a positive note, we had a lot of opportunities to play so many kids in this shortened season and we saw so much growth in our young players.”
We also now have game situation working models of our new schemes installed for next year. For our younger players, it’s a great spring board in to our upcoming Fall season. We will start our off-season program in April, and the coaches and I are excited about what we have coming back for next year.”
