The Brookings-Harbor Varsity Boys soccer team had their first Home game Thursday, September 14th against a tough Hidden Valley team. The majority of the first half was played in the middle third of the field as both teams contested the ball aggressively, and attempted to control the field. With few breaks in either defensive line and a handful of shots on either goal, the first half ended in a 0-0 tie.
The second half had the Bruins breaking the defensive line more often, with multiple shots and near misses. It wasn’t until approximately the middle of the second half that the Bruins would strike first. However the tough Hidden Valley team would tie the game up moments later, making the score 1-1. Very late in the game with only minutes left, Isiah Bruce put the ball in the back of the net, putting the Bruins up for good, 2-1. The Bruins now sit 2-1 in preseason play with their first league home game next Tuesday against Douglas at 3:00PM.
