BB/Pellet Gun Shootings Prompt Crescent City Police Investigation

Crescent City Police Officers were dispatched to the West end of W. 5th Street Monday, at about 5:00pm, April 5th, regarding a victim that had reported being shot with a projectile from a BB/Pellet gun. The victim was then treated at the hospital for their injury.

The victim was reportedly shot by the suspect, described as a white male adult in his 30’s or 40’s, with red hair/facial hair and glasses, who was sitting in his parked vehicle. The vehicle was described as a newer silver or gray Dodge Caravan, possibly with a white sticker in the rear window and a passenger in the vehicle was described as a younger white male with red hair and glasses.

Later in the night Crescent City Police Officers were informed by an additional victim that between the 4:30pm and 4:50pm, an unknown subject shot at her and her two juvenile children with what she suspected to be a BB or pellet gun in about the same location, although none of the victims in that incident were able to see the suspect(s). No one sustained any injuries, but the victims were forced to flee down the beach to escape being hit with projectiles.

The Crescent City Police Department is requesting that anyone with security cameras in the area of West 5th and Taylor Street (including surrounding areas) check for any footage that may help identify the suspect(s) from this incident. Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Crescent City Police Department at 707-464-2133, or Dispatch at 707-464-4191.
