Bank Robbery Suspect in Custody

On Thursday, January 11th, Detectives with the Brookings Police Department and the US Marshals Service shared information with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office that 55-year-old Stanley Carl Green was frequenting the area of Brookings, Or.

The US Marshals and the Brookings Police Department were seeking Green regarding an active warrant for his arrest on the charge of Fail to Appear regarding a robbery charge out of Thurston County, Washington.

In the early morning hours on Wednesday, January 17th, Officers with the Bandon Police Department learned that Green was staying in a campsite at the Bullards State Park, in Bandon, Or. Bandon Police notified appropriate law enforcement agencies, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received notification at which time Detectives responded to Coos County.

At approximately 8:30 am that same Wednesday morning, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office activated their Emergency Response Team which responded to the area of the Bullards State Park. After surveillance, the Coos County Emergency Response Team contacted Green and took him into custody without incident.

Detectives with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the Port Orford Police Department arrived at the Coos County Jail that afternoon, and an interview of Stanley Green was conducted. Mr. Green provided a statement admitting to his involvement in both the Columbia Bank robbery in Waldport and the Rogue Credit Union robbery in the City of Port Orford, Or.

On Wednesday evening January 17th, Detectives with Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Port Orford Police Department, executed a search warrant at the campsite that was previously occupied by Green. Detectives located items of interest regarding both bank robberies in the process, the items were seized as part of the investigation.

Stanley Carl Green was transported to the Lincoln County Jail on Wednesday, January 17th without incident.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the multiple agencies involved in the apprehension of Green. This arrest was successful due to multi-agency collaboration.
