Azalea Middle School Cross Country Team Starts Season Strong

On Saturday, February 27th, the 2021 school sports programs started for Azalea Middle School as the AMS Cross Country team traveled to Coquille to open their season.

Talking with Coach Jason Fulton, “the meet started at 11:00am on a beautiful day for running” he told the Compass. “We have a team of 13 runners, many of whom” are new runners this year.”

Azalea Middle School runner Owen Kolp finished 2nd overall

“The kids ran very well and we’re excited about how they performed.” AMS had runners Owen Kolp finish 2nd and Wyatt Harlan finish 3rd overall for the boys, while Lexie Newman was the first girl to finish for AMS, finishing 3rd overall for the girls.

Azalea Middle School will be holding it’s only home cross country meet next Wednesday, March 10th, at 4:30pm as they take on Gold Beach.
