The Lady Tigers traveled from Bandon to challenge the Azalea Middle School girls basketball team at Azalea Middle School Thursday.
The game would become a defensive battle early as both teams missed opportunities to establish a lead.
As the first period progressed the defenses continued to challenge shots and deny second shot opportunities under the basket.
Going into the second period tied, the offensive pressure from Bandon would give the Lady Tigers a 3 point lead midway through the second period.
As the second period closed, both teams would score, sending both teams to the half-time break with the AMS Bruin girls trailing 4-7.
Scoring would open up early in the third period as the Bruin girls scored twice, closing the gap to just one point making the score 8-9 midway through the third.
But the Lady Tigers would answer scoring 8 points in the second half of the third to maintain their 14-15 lead to close the third period.
But the fourth period continued to be a problem for the Bruin girls after inside shots and rebounds allowed Bandon to establish its largest lead of the game midway through the final period.
Again the Bruin girls would rally back late in the fourth, but the the 5 point lead would be too much to overcome and the Bandon Lady Tigers would take the 20-24 win.
