The Azalea boys basketball team and head coach Dustin Carmack hosted Sutherlin Thursday night, and ran away with their fifth straight win.
The AZ Bruins broke out early attacking the basket jumping out to a 14 point lead early in the first period and never trailed.
Defensively the AZ Bruins disrupted the Sutherlin offense from the inbound pass, denying passing lanes and keeping the Sutherlin offense from building any momentum.
Offensively, the AZ Bruin boys passing and ball handling allowed six players to score in the contest as the team put up 49 points in the game.
“Our team has showed great hustle, defense and teamwork this season and continue to bring a ton of energy to the court every game.” coach Carmack told the Compass after the game.
Crescent Elk is next on the schedule, and will travel to Azalea next Tuesday for a 5:30 tip-off.
