On Sunday, November 25th, just before 11:00 am, the Curry County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a resident on North Bank Rogue River, Gold Beach, Or., reporting that his workshop at his residence had been broken into, ransacked and numerous valuable items had been taken. The victim caller stated that the burglary had taken place within the last day or two. A Sheriff’s Deputy responded and took a report and gathered evidence left behind.
On Monday, November 26th, a few items were recovered which led Deputies to identify three suspects who were possibly involved with or had stolen items from the reported burglary. The items recovered were later positively identified by the victim caller who provided a recovery value of about $650.00.
Sheriff’s Deputies applied for a search warrant on Wednesday, November 28th, with the information they had gathered. The search warrant was granted by a Circuit Court Judge for a residence and vehicles located at the Rogue Landing Resort, being occupied by twenty-six-year-old Jared Rickard and twenty-six-year-old Chelsea Reisinger, both of Gold Beach.
The search warrant was served and both Rickard and Reisinger were taken into custody and numerous stolen items were recovered that had been taken from the burglary. The victim identified the stolen items and gave a recovery value of about $8,500.00
Both Rickard and Reisinger were transported to the Curry County Jail. Rickard was charged with Burglary 2, Theft 1 and Possession of Methamphetamine. Reisinger was charged with Theft 1 by Receiving.
Deputies then went to the residence of twenty-six-year-old Cecil Wright located on Chase Lane in Gold Beach and questioned him about the burglary and stolen property.
Wright gave consent to look around his place and numerous stolen items were recovered. Wright was taken into custody and transported to the Curry County Jail. Wright was charged with Burglary 2 and Theft 1. The items recovered were positively identified by the victim who gave a recovery value of about $3,500.00.
All information and evidence were provided to the District Attorney for prosecution. The Curry County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation and searching for additional stolen property.
