The Medford Police were forced to shut down Riverside Road Tuesday evening after officers were dispatched to a report of a person causing a disturbance in the area. Reports were that the person may be armed and was asking the police to shoot him.
This forced police to shut down Riverside Road between 8th and Main street and Rogue Community College campus was reportedly placed on lockdown.
The Medford Police reported that the situation was neutralized and a man was taken into custody after less lethal force options were used. No injuries were reported and the 21-year-old man was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct.
