Bruin High School varsity football coach Shaun Bavaro and the Bruin Football Association picked up and continued the flag football program, originally started as a summer activity by the Curry County Juvenile Department, in 2018 and has grown it into an exciting summertime experience enjoyed by almost 100 local boys and girls annually.

The NFL Flag program has been around for about 10 years nationally and locally now for 7 years. “Our main goal will always be about the Athelte experience. We want the kids to have fun and compete at the same time.” Bavaro continued. “The flag program is just one of the ways Bruin Football Association provides our youth with an option of playing football. One of  Bruin Football Association goals is to provide multiples entry points to the game of football and this is just one of multiple options BFA provides.”
