The “All Dirt & NO Turf Summer Banana Belt Tournament” returned to the Brookings area after a few years of hiatus. Nearly as large as the Slippery Banana Belt tournament played in Brookings traditionally in February, recent years have kept teams with commitments to other tournaments throughout the Oregon, California and Washington regions from the mid summer coastal tournament. However, the draw of the cooler coastal weather brought plenty of teams and families for the two day tournament. With perfect weather and the new improved fields at Azalea park, the organizers were able to play simultaneously with the men playing a Round Robin on Saturday and a Single Elimination bracket on Sunday, while the women played a 3 game guarantee pool play bracket on Saturday with a single elimination bracket on Sunday.
