Air Quality Warnings and Fog in the Valley, and Mild Mostly Sunny Days on the Coast to Start Workweek

An Air Stagnation Warning has been issued for areas of eastern Curry County as well as Josephine and Jackson Counties, including the cities of Cave Junction, Grants Pass and Medford as high pressure from the south continues to push weather systems to the north.

East of the coast, even though a weak disturbance Monday could produce enough movement to improve air quality, air stagnation remains likely near areas with significant sources of air pollution such as residential wood burning devices and outdoor burning.

Valley areas including the Illinois Valley and Medford areas will remain under an Air Stagnation Warning for much of the week, with stubborn patches of fog in the morning, and sunny, cool, partly cloudy afternoons starting Tuesday. Temperatures will remain cool in the mornings averaging in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s, and afternoon highs reaching the low 60’s.

On the coast, a weak disturbance expected to north on Monday could bring a slight chance of rain as low as Gold Beach, clearing by Tuesday with partly cloudy skies until the middle of the work week. Temperatures along the coast are forecast to remain mild with early morning lows in the upper 40’s, and high’s reaching 60 in some locations.
