Just before 2:00 am, Saturday, December 15th, Illinois Valley Fire District and American Medical Response were dispatched to a rollover crash on Hwy 199. A single vehicle had left the roadway and end up against an embankment, in the ditch just off the road.
When units arrived on the scene, as often is the case, there was no one present. Because the vehicle was entirely off of the roadway it was flagged with Yellow tape and all Illinois Valley Fire District and American Medical Response units returned to being in service.
Initial reports are that allegedly that a female and male were seen with the vehicle. They were gone when multiple American Medical Response and Illinois Valley Fire District units arrived. The area was searched for victims and checked obvious businesses in Cave Junction in the case the victims got a ride. The child seat was out upon the arrival of authorities.
The situation is under investigation.
