All Aboard Stout Mountain Railway’s “Trains in Toyland”

It’s that time of year again, and Stout Mountain Railway’s Christmas presentation of “Toys in Trainland 2018” does not disappoint.

Every Christmas now since 2007, starting at the Library, moving to Stout Park, and finally spending the last 4 years at the Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center, the dedicated members of the Stout Mountain Railway meticulously arrange a vast collection of model railway collections.

The collection is nothing less than spectacular featuring layouts in size ranges from G, O, On30, HO, N, and Z scales.

Talking with one of the original Stout Mountain Railway members Tony Parish, he shared that the collection, which takes 3 weeks to assemble, originated from personal collections over the years and has grown as donations from the community and model train enthusiasts came together.

New friends Emmett and Caleb sharing their expert knowledge on trains.

As we spoke the enthusiasm and happiness were hard to miss as he pointed out his daily visitors like little Emmett Bradbury and new friends Cole, Caleb and Casey, who couldn’t contain their excitement as they ran from exhibit to exhibit not missing a chance to see Thomas the Train whenever it passed by.

Train enthusiasts Casey, Emmett, and Cole wait with anticipation for the train to leave the tunnel.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit Saturday, December 22nd from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and will be a great day to visit this fantastic train display.
