On Friday, November 23rd, an officer from the Crescent City Police Department Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot.
During a consensual search, Crescent City Police Officers located suspected methamphetamine.
K9 Officer Kai was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics odor in the vehicle. A subsequent search yielded approximately 14.9 grams of suspected methamphetamine, $575.00 US Currency, a .22 caliber rifle, suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia.
The driver, Jon Erickson was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession and transportation of a controlled substance for sales. The passenger, James Jamison was arrested for possession and transportation of a controlled substance for sales and possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Both Erickson and Jamison were booked and held at the Del Norte County jail on felony charges.
