On Saturday evening, November 3rd, just before 6:30pm, the Illinois Valley Fire District responded to a Structure fire in the 33200 Block of Redwood Hwy, south of the O’Brien store.
The single-story house had heavy smoke coming out of the roof vents when units arrived. These units were able to extinguish the fire shortly after arrival and the two residents were able to exit the house safely.
The northbound lane of Highway 199 was closed to allow water tenders and other units to park on the roadway. Traffic control was provided by the Illinois Valley Community Emergency Response Team.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Illinois Valley Fire District Fire Marshal.
