A man stole items from Winco Friday evening and then fought with employees before fleeing the market. Medford officers attempted to retain 38-year-old Jerry Teixeira at the scene, however, Teixeira eluded officers.
On Saturday night, he then stole a backhoe from a construction site on the south end of Medford. He eluded officers again after leaving the backhoe, however officers tracked him to a nearby apartment complex.
Teixeira then jumped off the second story balcony and ran away. Officers were able to catch up to him and after he resisted arrest they were able to get him in custody.
