It’s Homecoming week at Brookings-Harbor High School, and Tuesday night at Bruins Arena the seats were filled with loud volleyball fans drenched in pink for Pink Day.

Coach Lorinda Shew’s girls varsity Volleyball team came out with an extra spring in their step as the Pink wave in the stands pushed them to exceptional play. The team seemed to jump a little higher at the net and get on the floor a little quicker for digs with the loudest volley ball gym of the year so far.

As a team, the Lady Bruins kept play alive with 34 digs on the night.

Serving and errors hurt the Lady Bruins at key moments during the matches as the Lady Bruins could only muster 2 Aces off the serve, and 24 hitting errors allowed Douglas to take the win in 3 straight matches.

Senior Mayce McCollum #4 and junior Cartyr Fitzhugh #6 strong at the net for the block.

The Lady Bruins will be at home again during homecoming week Thursday night at 6:30pm as they match-up against the 4-4 Crusaders of St. Mary’s, Medford.
