On Wednesday, October 3rd, K-9 officer Kai was deployed to assist CHP-Crescent City Officers on a traffic stop on Highway 101 near the KOA. K9 Kai altered to the presence of narcotics.
A subsequent search led to the location of a loaded handgun, suspected methamphetamine, suspected heroin and an expandable baton.
The driver, Robert Wayne Martinez (7-11-83) was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sales and transportation of a controlled for sales as well as weapon charges.
