The Lady Bruins came out swinging against the Lady Cougars of Illinois Valley after not playing their best in their last outing.
Illinois Valley made the first game interesting as the Lady Bruins struggled to find their serve, but Brookings-Harbor benefited from 13 aces on the night from Mayce McCullom, Gracie Harms, Maggie Steerman and Lexi Pacino combined.
The Lady Bruins defense layed-out for 16 digs on the night, and Sierra and Cartyr Fitzhugh led the way with Maggie Steerman and Mayce McCullom to put away the Lady Cougars with 14 combined kills at the net.
“We will continue to work on blocking and running middle attack as well as putting the ball away” said Coach Lorinda Shew as they fine-tune their game in another pre-season game against McKinleyville at home at 7:00 pm.
