Just after 12 pm Sunday, Fort Dick Fire Department with the Smith River Fire Department, Del Norte Ambulance, and the California Highway Patrol responded to a reported traffic collision on Hwy 101 just north of Sarina Rd. involving two vehicles.
Unfortunately, the collision resulted in one fatality and three other minor injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the CHP.
Traffic on Hwy 101 was impacted for approx. one hour due to the accident.
