Just after noon on Wednesday, July 11th, the Illinois Valley Fire District responded with Oregon Department of Forestry, Rural Metro, and US Forestry Service to a wildland fire.
This just over half acre fire was located at the end of Valley Heights Rd. off of Dear Creek just west of the Selma 76 gas station.
The Oregon Department of Forestry directed a helicopter to the fire which made numerous water drops knocking down the fire substantially.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by Oregon Department of Forestry.
