Klamathon Fire Threatening 600 Homes

As of the last update at approximately 8:00pm Sunday night, the Klamathon Fire located off Klamathon and Copco Roads just south of Hornbrook, had scorched over 35,000 acres destroying 81 structures.

Moderate fire behavior was expected Sunday night and continuing into Monday morning as firefighters have worked feverishly to reach 25% containment. Officials are expecting the west and north flanks to continue having short range spotting in the timber stands as winds pick up along the ridge tops.

810 structures are threatened by the Klamathon Fire. 600 of those are homes. Many communities continue to be threatened including King River Country Estates as well as Hilt and Colestin along with the Horseshoe Ranch Wildlife Area, Klamath National Forest, Soda Mountain Wilderness and Cascade Siskiyou National Monument will be threatened. and Jackson County OR.

The over 2700 fire personnel and almost 200 engines have completed containment lines on the east flank that should mitigate the threat to Iron Gate Reservoir Estates.
